and Brady not much long after for his FIRST BASKETBALL GAME!!! It was so fun to watch him run around, play defense and even shoot some in the hoop! I have a feeling this is the start of many many games in our family's future!

We took the kids for their first game of the season...and Marinn's first game ever( really?). We had great seats except we were surrounded by some giant football recruits!! The cougars gave us a win, and at the end Brady showed Marinny how it's done on the court (this is Brady's little tradition that he has been doing since he was 11 months old!)

Truth be told I would have LOVED if the snow would have fallen on Christmas Eve . But here is one little girl who was thrilled to finally have some snow to play in this morning! She made one snow angel after another...and thankfully I didn't have to remind her how to do it( that would have been a sight!). And whats better than warming up with some hot chocolate(thanks emmy!). I guess Winter is finally here!

I can hardly believe that my little Pinkerbelle is 3! As you can probably tell...these pictures are hopelessly out of order(kind of like my house right now). Thanks to an extra long school break we were able to get plenty of celebration time in with both family...AND have a quiet Christmas morning with just our little family. From pre- christmas temple square to new years eve sleepover, we have had a blast and stayed up late, played games, ate more than we should and overall had our best Christmas yet. I have some priceless videos that I have been trying to put up but to no avail...I guess you'll just have to take my word for it! It was an all around beautiful time of year and we have truly been blessed.

So grateful for these wonderful people in my life. It's been 15 years since I was able to spend Thanksgiving with my parents. It was so perfect(even with sickness!blah!) and laid back and comfortable. Thank you Mom and Dad for traveling, helping me with transitioning 2 bedrooms, spending quality time with the kids and just hanging out and making the start of this holiday season so special. We all miss you already!

Disneyland 2011

True to Jackson form we decided to take a last minute trip... to Disney...and it was magical. About the only thing that I didn't love was the beating my feet took--and still, it was worth it!
I think half of Utah must of been there because every where we went we heard "Go Cougars!". It was so so nice to just spend time together as a family(it had been WAY to long). And of course we made some incredible memories along the way. I know that this is picture overload but it was hard to edit down!

There was 2 major emotions flowing this morning: excitement and sadness. I'll let you guess who had which one! Now that it has been over a week, I can write(with some control)about how the day went. Brady was mister cool and I was a hot mess. The whole time waiting for the teacher to come get his class he kept asking me why I was crying and reassuring ME! My goodness just starting the letting go process is painful. They really do only stay little for such a short time! They conclusion is that Brady loves school and looks forward to going every morning! And I have started the "preschool" process with Marinn and it's also been fun getting some alone time with her! We are just now getting settled into a routine and it has been a positive all the way around for our little family!

One of the HUGE gifts of going home is that Marinn got potty trained!! It was kind of slow starting but once she got it...she took off! Seriously a gift compared to training Brady! We still have occasional accidents but there is definitely no going back now! I must admit seeing her little bum in underpants makes me a little bit sad...but not to to sad! Hooray for Marinn!

We were lucky enough to spent some time with my parents this summer in Maine. It truly was idyllic company, weather and food(of course). Kim was even able to catch a few days with us here and there. You can't get much better than that! A HUGE thanks goes to Mom and Dad for all that they did(transport us, feeding us, going on adventures with us!) It was definitely the highlight of the summer!

Kim convinced me to sign Brady up for Tee Ball and I am so glad he did! It's been so fun to watch him improve every game. I'm pretty sure that the highlight still is getting a treat at the end of the game! We we lucky enough to spend an incredible weekend down in sunny St. George with our Jackson Family. The last of the Jackson Boys (but not the least:)) Sean married Cari Sue. We couldn't be more excited to have her as addition! It was a whirlwind of events but also very very fun. Thanks to Dan and Shelley Flake( we couldn't have done this without you guys!! THANK YOU)-we made some incredible memories.

I still have moments where I can look at my children with complete wonder. I have so blessed to have these little spirits in my life. With Braden's 5th Birthday I seem to be having these kind of thoughts more frequently! His current obsession is Super Mario and the Cougars--and boy I think we really delivered it on Saturday. Of course you know I am NOT crafty so planning this party was a quite the stretch but his reaction to it along with the decorations totally made it worth it. ...Finally!! It took me awhile to get Brady into this pretty terrific preschool in our neighborhood...but he is in now! And he has taken to it very well...probably better than his mom! Rebuilding

I must confess, I still haven't come down off my Christmas high-just ask my still-up Christmas tree. We had such a great holiday with family from both sides. Now, with most of you my thoughts are on renewal and rebuilding my self and my home. Watching Marinn with these blocks was comical...so proud of herself in one second.....and then so frustrated with herself in the next. Sadly, I saw the parallels--how often to I embark on a new adventure excited and then immediately frustrated when I don't get the results that I want! I need to take my own motherly advice to Marinny and "don't give up...try it again..." . I mean sometimes you just have to say"Uh-oh" and take a step back and laugh at yourself. Thanks for the lesson, Marinn. I needed that.

So maybe I don't ANYTHING decorated in my house yet. BUT...thanks to my Dad and Kim, we have a playset. It has become the hit of the neighborhood...I've have found random kids on it! The best part is that I can see the kids playing from my kitchen window *sigh*. Last night we got a surprise package from Mimi with an addition for Marinn...a baby swing!!! As a special treat before bed time...they both got to swing! Pure joy I tell you..that is until it was time for bed!

Somewhere between our old apartment and our new house, I have lost my baby. Marinn has seemed to grown up before my eyes! Well now that March is in it's full swing of 'madness', I thought that we better do a quick catch up. March certainly came in as a lion with both kids quarantined with RSV. Unfortunately it was also Braden's birthday and we had to postpone it for a while...also not fun. But we are glad to say that we are on the other side of it! And Brady's 'Olympic Party' was a success! Oh yeah, and we almost bought a house but it didn't happen...well maybe..we are still not sure. Hopefully March will go out as a lamb.

Brady: "Mom, how do you make love?"

Me:(thinking to myself) wait...what did he just ask me? Are we really having this conversation NOW? Gosh, pull yourself together Ash! Now just play it cool... "Sorry what did you say, bud?"

It's just not fair. Why do babies have to grow soooooooooooo fast?! Could it be true that this little lady has only been with us for a year? She certainly came with her own personality and an infectious smile(sometimes a deadly combination!) We just love this spark plug! And okay...she kinda really likes her momma too! And while we are excited to see all the new things that she is doing...STOP GROWING SO FAST MARINN! We want you to be our baby girl forever!

Just in case anyone out there still reads this: WE ARE ALL ALIVE AND WELL. There is so much to catch up on that I have been putting it off...forgive me?! So I will try my best to recap the last little bit of our lives...

The littlies as we came to call them. Poor Andrew had to over come a double ear infection and a good konk on the in the face! They were so fun to watch as they interacted with each other!

The biggies with Santa on Christmas Eve. Brady just had a ball with his cousins...were having a hard time transitioning to life without them around 24/7!

Santa really laying the law down..."I'm really checking to see if you are naughty or nice". I am really going to miss using that as a threat!

RockBand/ Guitar Hero was a common theme with both families!

The holidays started with Thanksgiving...Julie and I actually pulled it off by ourselves this year. True to form...I only really got pics of the kids! Our family's TRUE Thanksgiving day was December 1, 2009 when Kim got a call from a company that he interviewed with back in July. They had been doing some re-structuring and wanted Kim to be a part it. Finally. Cue the heavenly choir...HALLELULIA!!! Although Kim will be on the road A LOT he is in the field that he loves and the counts for a lot. DVSport is a digital software company that teams(college and pro's)use for :scouting, replay, recruiting etc. Kim first became familiar with the company because that is what he used at the Y. Most of you know perfectly well what a difficult time these past 6 months have been. It wasn't pretty but we MADE it. Sometimes there are no words to express how you feel. The best I can do is simply: WE ARE SO GRATEFUL!

On to Christmas where we were lucky enough to have both our families in town. And again, I did not document these occasions very well. If I didn't have Leslie or Danielle in my life no one would know that we exist! Here are just a very few pictures to mark our FANTASTIC holiday. Love, love family! We, like you, are looking forward to 2010 and all the highs, lows and in between times that it will bring.

Okay after a few VERY frustrating days of construction(and deconstruction) my blog is back! Much thanks to Leslie who talked me through this drama and showed me how to get things back in order! Please excuse the old posts ...I made some promises to friends to post the second half of the Maine trip. And yes, I really don't mind reliving the memories!

WARNING: PLEASE READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH FIRST. YEAH MY BLOGGING SKILLS ARE TERRIBLE!

Braden on the 4 wheeler with Aunt Sue. I must admit I wasn't to keen on this idea at first. But having gone on a ride myself, I wouldn't have missed it. The scenery was BREATH TAKING and the grin on Braden's face at the end said it all! Mimi and Marinn reunited at last. Surrounded by my favorite apple: MACINTOSH's!

I was so glad to be able to visit with my grandfather a bit. Marinn is really turning on the charm here.

Brady was so adorable with these pups and their Moms. He would cuddle them with blankets and go and get their moms when they began the least bit of whining, Here is Abby nursing SEVEN puppies(can you imagine!)

The funniest thing that we have discovered since we've been here is how much Marinn and Brady love the trampoline. You have not heard Marinny giggle unless you have her on a tramp with her big bro jumping(as gently as possible) around her. It is a riot!

This was taken at the apple orchard that I use to go to when I was a little girl. There is really nothing quite like fresh apple cider from the press! And despite the look on his face Braden loved being able to pick and eat all the apples he wanted! Stay tuned for more adventures to follow.

In my life I have really been fortunate to have really extraordinary roommates. These girls have
enriched my life, expanded my views and each has definitely help shape me into the person that I am today. I count these girls as my sisters. And though we all have our separate lives now all it takes is a phone call, email or visit to pick up where we have left off. That's why I was so excited to have Erika and her daughter come over for a play date with Marinn. The only downer is that we don't live closer! I loved catching up and watching our kids interact. Erika, your daughter is just as beautiful as you and I can tell she has your " I love life" kinda personality!

Grampa McInnis

Vincent, Vinny, Stuffy, Dear, Dad, Popcorn and Grampa. No matter what name you knew him by, we will all miss this man. And while we all mourn his loss, we are overjoyed that he is now free from the pain and discomfort in spent in his last years. Sometimes aging can be a terrible thing. It's hard for the individual,it's hard for the family to see their loved one in a diminished capacity. It's just hard. I know my Grandfather is in a far better place. The memory that I cherish the most is perhaps my earliest of him. I am sitting on his lap and I ask about his yellow tooth( and old football injury is what he tells me) for the 100th time. He then tickles me and calls me "a character" and I look up at my Grampa like he said the most hilarious thing and say, " Oh, Grampa I AM NOT A CARROT!" . Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the funeral in Maine but all my thoughts and prayers will be with my family who is currently gathering there. Just know that somewhere someone will be playing "Danny Boy" just for that man of many names.

It is a blessing to know that we will enjoy these same associations again someday.

Pool days are finally here! I think summer has taken it's sweet time this year! With days like these it has almost been worth the wait. We are having a wonderful time swimming in the Jackson pool with our cousins( miss you Andrew and Alexa!).

Strawberry Days

I have a special little place in my heart for Strawberry Days. Seven years ago Kim and I went on our first date to the rodeo( a totally NEW experience for the both of us). Sadly, Kim was working a Basketball camp so we couldn't re-create that magic moment. But Luke and Leslie graciously allowed us to tag along with them for the day for some more kid friendly activities! Despite the drizzly weather we had a great time and Brady is still talking about it. These pictures are totally out of order...sorry!

On Sunday we were finally able to bless our Marinny. I say finally because for one reason or another we have been pushing this back for "a better week". We were worried that her beautiful dress from Mimi might not fit anymore! Luckily it did and it was just a beautiful event in general. Marinn was actually calm and happy which is what I was PRAYING for and we had such wonderful family to support us. Well, it finally has come time for our "student" phase of life to end! Kim has received his Masters and I couldn't be more proud of him. Anyone who knows Kim knows that he really dislikes school so it's really time to celebrate! And here is the braggy wife part: He managed to graduate as valedictorian and will be speaking tomorrow at convocation...and has also received the top graduate research award for his thesis(he did not want me writing about this...sorry Kim!). I only wish that he would enjoy this accomplishment- he is too stressed about applying for coaching jobs. This has been a long time coming and while we feel a bit unsure about what the future may hold for us, we are excited to see what's behind the next bend. Our attempt for a family picture failed miserably.... Brady running around and Marinn crying...sadly, that's pretty accurate!

Way to go Kim! I LOVE YOU!

Easter Dreams

I love Easter. I do. Growing up my Mom always made it really special with intricate riddles to find our chocolate bunny. While my kids aren't quite at the riddle stage yet, they sure looked cute! We had a great day of egg hunting, eating yummy treats, playing games and just being together. The best part about Easter I think is that no matter what is going on in your life ( the good, the bad, the ugly), HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL. It's something that we all need. I am so grateful for that hope, for that faith in my life.

Here is my wish for you this Easter Season: that you keep dreaming, believing and celebrating the eternal life that has been given to you.

Each Life That Touches Ours For Good

Marinn and I are back from a whirlwind trip to Maine. My beloved Nana finally passed after a 20 year plus battle with Parkinson's. While I will miss this SASSY, competitive, compassionate lady, I am mostly relieved for her. She courageously lived with this disease without complaining about it. Now she is dancing her way through heaven pain free. I am so grateful to everyone who made this last minute trip possible...Luke this especially means you! Kim took one for the team and was super dad to Brady while I was gone. It had been quite a number of years since all of my brothers and I were able to get together and it was so fun.
Marinn was able to hang out with our newest nephew Andrew(the happiest, chill baby ever!).
And The grandparents had their fill of the grand babies!

I decided to capture one of my favorite things about having children...seeing them interact with each other. It's always humorous to see Brady "play" with Marinn but now she is definitely reacting to it(...and not always positively!)it's so fun. I am looking forward to many more of these moments!
